Fat Freezing

Fat freezing is a type of cryolipolysis, a method of reducing fat that has been approved by the FDA. It works by freezing fat cells, which are more susceptible to cold temperatures than other cells, without damaging surrounding skin or tissue.

During the procedure, a practitioner uses an applicator to cool the fat cells while the person feels a cooling sensation. The procedure typically lasts 20-60 minutes, and there is no downtime since there is no skin or tissue damage.

Some people may experience soreness, stinging, firmness, mild discoloration, swelling, or itchiness at the treatment site. It takes approximately 4-6 months for the body to eliminate the fat cells, and the treated area may see a reduction of up to 20% in fat. While every patient is different, most patients benefit from one to three sessions for each area of concern. We recommend that patients wait at least 60 days before retreating any area.

Cryolipolysis is a non-invasive procedure that doesn't require incisions, anesthesia, or medications that could cause an allergic reaction. Therefore, the risk of complications and side effects is lower than that of more invasive procedures like liposuction. However, some possible complications may still occur, including swelling, bruising, sensitivity, redness, and localized pain.
