Nipple Reduction
Nipple reduction is a cosmetic surgical procedure that involves removing the excess tissue from the nipple in order to reduce its size and/or projection. This procedure is often performed on men or women who are unhappy with the size or shape of their nipples, which may be too large, pointy, or irregularly shaped.
The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia and involves making a small incision around the base of the nipple. The surgeon removes a small amount of tissue, reshapes the remaining tissue, and then sutures the incision closed.
Recovery time varies, but most patients can return to work and normal activities within a week or two. There may be some swelling or bruising for a few days, but this typically fades quickly.
Nipple reduction is generally considered safe and effective, but as with any surgical procedure, there are risks and potential complications, such as infection, bleeding, and scarring. It is important to discuss the risks and benefits with a qualified plastic surgeon before deciding whether to undergo nipple reduction surgery.
