Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative medicine has shown promising results in treating chronic osteoarthritis by reducing pain and improving joint function. It can also be used to treat acute injuries such as partial ligament and tendon tears, potentially reducing post-surgical recovery times and offering an alternative to joint replacement surgery. The treatment relies on the regenerative properties of mesenchymal cells, which are extracted from bone marrow and fat tissue and injected into the affected joint to initiate tissue regeneration. This approach can effectively treat severe pain in various joints, including knees, shoulders, hips, wrists, and ankles, as well as soft tissue structures such as tendons, ligaments, and non-healing bone fractures. Patients with conditions such as golfer's elbow or tennis elbow may also benefit from regenerative medicine, which can significantly improve joint function and reduce pain.

The Procedure

After harvesting fat and processing the harvested fat, cells are injected directly into the affected joint, which may be the knee, shoulder, or elbow. Once inside the joint, the cells initiate the healing process. For patients with osteoarthritis, it's believed that cells work by transforming into crucial cartilage cells and producing proteins that help alleviate pain and delay the breakdown of cartilage tissue.
