Neck Liposculpture

Neck Liposculpture is an effective minor procedure to treat sagging neck.  Micro-liposculpture is used to remove small areas of fat through tiny tubes and very small incisions.  It is also the preferred technique for the face in general such as the cheeks, under the chin, and the jowls.

The surgeon meticulously cuts off the fat and removes it by using small instruments attached to suction. No fluid flows out of the portion under treatment. And so, no tube is used. The incision points are closed and dressed lightly with sterile bandage for three days. It is recommended to wear loose and soft garment for a few days after the surgery.

Advantages

The operation removes fatty tissues from the neck. As a result, the neck appears well structured and well developed with a nice outline.  Almost no discomfort after the surgery is another advantage of the procedure. The patient is kept under no restriction regarding food and movement. Above all, the operation turns up successfully.

Disadvantages

Procedure
The patient who is supposed to undergo the surgery is rendered unconscious with an anesthesia. A local anesthesia may be administered to the patient. The very delicate incisions are made at the back of each earlobe and/or underneath the chin. The surgeon applies an anesthetic solution of dilute lidocaine on the fatty areas of the neck. The effects of the solution come to the surface after about thirty minutes. This advanced technique of anesthesia eliminates the pain during and even after the procedure.

The unavoidable disadvantages of Neck Liposculpture are persistent swelling and skin laxity around the neck. This method of neck treatment involves a risk of unevenness. In case of loose or sagging skin after the operation, gentle massage will help. Otherwise, the patient may be required to undergo the treatment again.

Recovery
Once your procedure is completed, a compression garment or elastic bandages may cover treatment areas.  These help control swelling and compress the skin to your new body contours.

The patient soon returns to the normal walk of daily life after the treatment. The patient experiences least pain and minimal discomfort at the postoperative stage. In case, pain arises, you are provided with a prescription for pain-killing medications. Swelling at the operative part of the neck is mild and disappears rapidly within two or three weeks. No lack of energy is felt. The stitches are removed about 7 days after the operation.

You will see a noticeable difference in the shape of your body quite soon after surgery. However, improvement will become even more apparent after about four to six weeks, when most of the swelling has subsided. After about three months, any persistent mild swelling usually disappears and the final contour will be visible.
